Nature’s Way Chiropractic Clinic
Stephen Newdell, DC
Finally, after the birth of 6 billion children someone decided it was time to make Mothers-to-be more comfortable. Well, it took long enough. Where were you during the first century? The Prego Pillow has been a Great comfort to the Mothers-to-be coming in to my clinic. They’re comfortable while I do a combination of Massage followed by gentle Chiropractic adjusting done by hand. It’s a sure thing that they’ll tell more pregnant women to come here when their back hurts. The pillow is vinyl, so it looks clean and it’s easily cleanable with a sterile wash. It’s lightweight and easy to put on the adjusting table. I’ve even mentioned the pillow in my latest News letter. It shows that I’ve been considerate to my patients and that makes potential New ones want to come here. The Prego Pillow is Good Chiropractic and Good Business. We’re all thankful for it.

I love the Prego Pillow! It has changed my practice and definitely improved my work with Pregnant Women. All of my clients enjoy being able to lie face down with no pressure on their abdomen. With the pressure of the baby taken off their spine they can relax more than ever. The Prego Pillow is a Great tool for Pregnancy Massage Therapists and their clients!

I just wanted to send you a little note to let you know how impressed I am with the Prego Pillow! I have to ask “Where were you when I was Pregnant”? You can tell that you put a lot of caring and thought into designing The Prego Pillow, especially the way you designed it to be used as a Portable Baby Bed…Incredible!! I think there are a lot of people who would kiss the ground you walk on just for coming up with such a Fabulous, Practical, Useful, not to mention Comfortable piece of equipment. The patients that used the pillow couldn’t stop talking about how comfortable it was. They particularly liked the fact that this position took the weight of the baby off their spine…Terrific Concept!!
June 6, 2015 Hello,
For some reason, I thought you had gone out of business and I'm glad to see that I was wrong.
I have been in practice as a full-time massage therapist since 1991. I was trained in prenatal massage in school and spent the first several years doing massage in a side-lying position. I saw an ad for the Prego Pillow in a massage magazine and asked an ob/gyn who referred patients to me what he thought about it. He said that as long as the mother was comfortable, he thought it was fine. I'd just found out one of my weekly clients was pregnant and I really didn't want to go through her entire pregnancy pulling out all the bolsters, pillows, and cushions every week to prop her so I made the investment and I'm very glad that I did. My pregnant clients love it and often exclaim how happy they are to be able to lie face down for a little while. It's very easy to use for either prone or side-lying position and if a mother starts out prone and changes her mind, it's simple for her to turn to her side. For supine, I put a couple of pillows behind their back and prop them in a semi-reclining position.
The Prego Pillow has made doing prenatal massage so much easier and comfortable for both me and the client. Besides using it in my private office, we had them in a hospital and in a spa where I worked. Whenever the subject of prenatal massage comes up in massage therapy forums, I always let massage therapists know that the Prego Pillow has served both me and my clients well for at least eighteen, possibly about 20 years now. I even gave a massage to a pregnant ob/gyn on it. She loved it. Now that I have a website, it's getting even more use than in the past. Apparently there are not many MTs in my town who do prenatal massage so many find their way to me. I'm glad to know you are still around.
Thanks for making a great product.

p.s. I wrote to you several years ago asking if there had ever been any reports of adverse effects from using a Prego Pillow and I appreciate that you took the time to respond to my inquiries. Unfortunately, a number of MTs seem to think supports like Prego Pillow are not safe for pregnant women. I have searched the internet and have not been able to find a single case report of an adverse effect, no product warnings, nothing. I've consulted with several ob/gyns over the years. As I said, we used them in both a hospital and a spa where I worked. I've never been able to find a single complaint. Whenever MTs raise this concern, I tell them I have searched and found no evidence to support these fears. I hope it helps to get the word out that MTs need not be afraid to use a Prego Pillow and their mothers-to-be will be much happier.
